Description of a Clinical Neuropsychologist:

 

“A Clinical Neuropsychologist uses psychological, neurological, cognitive, behavioral, and physiological principles and techniques to assess, diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate patients.”

Board Certification ensures competency.  However, at minimum, a Clinical Neuropsychologist should have:

 

· An accredited doctoral degree in a professional area of psychology

· A one year (or its equivalent) internship in a clinical area of professional psychology.

· Two years of supervised experience and training in Clinical Neuropsychology by a Clinical Neuropsychologist.

· A license to practice psychology and/or neuropsychology.
