Description of a Clinical Neuropsychologist: “A Clinical Neuropsychologist uses psychological, neurological, cognitive, behavioral, and physiological principles and techniques to assess, diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate patients.” Description from the National Academy of Neuropsychology. Board Certification ensures competency. However, at minimum, a Clinical Neuropsychologist should have: · An accredited doctoral degree in a professional area of psychology · A one year (or its equivalent) internship in a clinical area of professional psychology. · Two years of supervised experience and training in Clinical Neuropsychology by a Clinical Neuropsychologist. · A license to practice psychology and/or neuropsychology.
